The Master of Divinity degree program is designed to guide the student indeveloping the following attitudes and competencies:

Human — To commit himself to ongoing integration of intellectual, spiritual and human dimensions of priestly ministry.

Engage in ministry (interpersonal, communal) situations with
multicultural awareness, compassion and perspective.

Develop emotional maturity, moral integrity, and social concern.

 

Spiritual — To practice Christian spirituality. Reflect upon the experience of God in one’s life and ministry. Develop a habit of prayer and participation in the sacramental life of the Church.

 

Intellectual — To understand and communicate the Roman Catholic faith
and tradition in the context of the contemporary world.

Engage in theological reflection connecting faith and life

Internalize and integrate basic concepts of Catholic theology in ecumenical settings or within interreligious dialog.

Interpret Scripture, Tradition and Magisterium with historical awareness and multicultural sensitivity.

 

Pastoral — To provide collaborative, culturally sensitive leadership in
pastoral ministry situations.

Communicate the faith through preaching, teaching, writing, or in other appropriate ways.

Minister effectively within multicultural faith communities.

Collaborate with others in calling forth the gifts of the Christian community.

Conduct oneself with accountability and integrity.
