Ask the Librarian

If you have a reference question you can contact us in many ways:

Phone: 248-706-4211

Email: library@sscms.edu

We also accept appointments for more in-depth individualized research needs. Please call or email the library if you wish to have extended one-on-one time with a librarian. Some examples of how individualized time can be spent include, but are certainly not limited to:

       Bibliographic Instruction: An introduction to searching the library catalog, as well as

       placing holds, renewing items, and accessing your library account online.

       Information Literacy: Searching for, locating, and evaluating sources (primary, secondary,

       scholarly, peer-reviewed, etc.) in both print and digital formats--and why a large return of

       search results is not necessarily better.

       Research Assistance: Searching the research databases (ATLA, CPLI, FirstSearch);

       evaluating results; navigating the serials collection; placing interlibrary loan requests;

       Internet search resources.

When calling, please provide a detailed description of your research problem or scholarly interests.
